DAR meets in Bella Vista

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution had its annual meeting of the Osage District on July 25, 2015, at the Bella Vista Country Club, hosted by Lovely Purchase Chapter of Bella Vista.

Lovely Purchase recently celebrated its 30th year of service to DAR. Other chapters in the Arkansas State DAR's Osage District include Abendschone in Eureka Springs, Harrison Colony in Harrison, James Bright in Bentonville, Marion in Fayetteville, Ozark Mountain and Enoch Ashley in Rogers and the Ft. Smith Chapter. There are approximately 510 DAR members in the district.

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. Contact Carol Miles at 479-381-1043 for more information.
