School board uses bully tactics
The Bentonville School District has proclaimed that it will not tolerate bullying. Yet, we see it every day within the ranks of the Bentonville School Board.
Bentonville School Board President Travis Riggs bullied board member Wendi Cheatham off the board. He got what he wanted. He now has no opposition to whatever he wants.
The reason for having several members on a board is to garner the different opinions of the people that each board member is responsible to represent.
With the abuse that board member Cheatham has received, I fear the remaining board members will be reluctant to present any ideas their constituents might want to have presented.
As an example of Travis Riggs' bully-like behavior, I mentioned before that the first time I met with the board, I presented a proposal and President Riggs said, "Parsons, take your business and go elsewhere."
The purpose of a board is to listen to the people and respect their opinions rather than try to get rid of them and throw them under the bus. Right now, the Bentonville School Board is "Rigged."
