The Benton County Master Gardeners will have their Lawn and Garden Expo from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the First United Methodist Church, 201 NW 2nd in Bentonville.
The featured speaker is Janet Carson, author and Extension horticulturalist for the University of Arkansas System, Division of Agriculture.
She will be talking from 9 to 10 a.m. on hot new plants; 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. on shade gardening; and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on annuals vs. perennials.
Other garden demonstrations during the event include: native plants, butterfly gardens, garden decor ideas, mushrooms, potatoes, food preservation, composting, organic pest control, raising chickens, drip irrigation, hypertufa, rain barrels, invasive plant control, succulents and lavender.
There will be a plant sale as well.
