Prayer Breakfast set for May 7

Bella Vista will have its first National Prayer Service at 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, in an announcement made last week by Mayor Peter Christie.

The theme for the service will be "Lord, Hear Our Cry," and the scripture reference will be "Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day (1 Kings 8:28)."

The keynote speaker will be Christie, who will be supported by several local pastors leading the prayer service. Pastor Sue Metcalf, Forest Hills Baptist Church, will lead with personal prayers; Pastor Mark Voll, Village Bible Evangelical Church, will lead prayers for our city and community; Pastor Eric Sloter, Bella Vista Community Church, will lead prayers for our nation; and Al Genna, deacon, St. Bernard's Catholic Church, will lead prayers for world concerns.

Special music will be provided by Daniel Salls from the Bella Vista Baptist Church.

There will be many local churches, city officials, and Allen's Grocery Store selling tickets for the breakfast, which are $6 for the full breakfast. Checks should be made out to the Bella Vista City with the notation that it is for the Prayer Breakfast.
