Kingsdale Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will hold their weekly square dance Monday, April 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. A brief workshop at 6:30 p.m. will precede the dance. Johnny Eubanks will be the caller.

Perfect Harmony

Perfect Harmony Women's Barbershop Chorus meets at 7 p.m. every Monday in the choir room of the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Rd. There is no singing experience or tryouts required. Bring the music selected for our next performances to rehearsal. Our Food Pantry item for April is canned fruit. Perfect Harmony extends an invitation to all women to come to the rehearsals.

Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary

At the April 22 meeting of the Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club, Emily Harrison of the Springdale Rotary Club will speak about "Choices," a program geared to junior high students to encourage them to stay in school.

Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary has a breakfast meeting every Wednesday at 6:45 a.m. at Concordia Retirement Center, main building, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista.

Bella Vista Needlework Club

The Bella Visa Needlework Club meets at Riordan Hall at 10 a.m. Monday mornings. The members knit, crochet, cross-stitch, quilt and do various kinds of needlework. There is plenty of room, large tables and light. If you don't have a POA photo ID card you will pay $2.25 at the desk. Our annual group fee is only $2. Our Spring Fling will be May 4 at Crystal Bridges. Come and join the group.

Ladies Day Out

All women are welcome to join Ladies Day Out on Tuesday, April 21, at 11:30 a.m. as they gather in the church parking lot across from the Arvest Bank at town center in Bella Vista to carpool to Abuelos Restaurant for lunch and then shopping and/or a movie.

Nyte Tyme Quilters

Bella Vista Nyte Tyme Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 20. This group usually meets the third Monday of every month except November and December. New and experienced quilters meet to share techniques and project ideas. All are welcome.

The program this month will be presented by Jeanne Weiland and will feature "Weaving Circle in a Square Block." There will also be a "Show and Tell" portion of the meeting to show completed personal projects.

This group meets at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista.

Calico Cutups

The Calico Cutups Quilt Guild will meet April 27 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. or, bring a sack lunch and come early to socialize with friends and visit with Lynn Doyle who is both vendor and speaker. Lynn's topic is "Easy, Fast, Inexpensive Projects." Bring a yellow fat quarter for drawing.

There will be a show and tell following the meeting. All levels of quilters are welcome. There is a $5 cover charge for nonmembers.

Benton County Republican Women

This group will meet Tuesday, April 21, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Golden Corral, 2605 Pleasant Crossing Drive, Rogers, Ark. Many come early to eat before the meeting starts.

The speaker will be Rachel Silva from Little Rock who is outreach coordinator for the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program in Little Rock and president of the Pulaski County Historical Society. She also serves on the Arkansas Historical Association's Board of Trustees. She will share information and answer questions.

Granny's Quilts of Love

Granny's Quilts of Love met March 17 in Pea Ridge. Twenty-five members were present. Two hundred quilts were cut following a short meeting. The total number of quilts made and donated to the Arkansas Children's Hospital is 19,852, pillows 5,120 and caps 2,813.

The next meeting will be April 21 at 9:30 a.m. at the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St., Pea Ridge, at which time quilt kits will be cut.

Beta Sigma Phi

The Laureate Alpha Gamma chapter met in the Highlands Clubhouse for a brunch with Laureate Beta Alpha chapter. Following a social time together, each chapter met separately for their monthly meeting. Two new members who were both present are Betty Boling-Stull and Janice Kennedy. Plans for Founders Day, April 24, at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, were finalized.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 13, at the home of Annette Allsup. Katie Holloway will serve as co-host. It will include swearing in new officers and giving ritual degrees.

Daybreak Rotary

Benton County Circuit Court Judges Doug Shrantz (Division 6) and Tom Smith (Division 3) spoke with members of the Bentonville/Bella Vista Daybreak Rotary concerning the Circuit Court facilities in Benton County.

The initial Court House on the square was built in 1928 and was more than adequate for the intermittent visits of the one Circuit Judge. With the increasing number of court cases, the six Circuit Judges and their staffs, the original structure, even with the addition of the old post office building across the street, expanding to formerly private law offices and the construction of a new Juvenile Court facility, the need for adequate offices has not been met, members were told.

Bella Vista Garden Club

Bella Vista Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, April 22, at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road. A social gathering will start at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a meeting at 11:30 a.m. and a light lunch.
