Highlands Church

The JAM Adult Sunday School Class meets every Sunday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.

New four week bible study on the book "Before Amen: The Power of a Simple Prayer", by Max Lucado, begins Tuesday, May 19 from 9:30-11 a.m.

Anyone interested in joining the Walk to Emmaus, contact the church office. Men's walk is April 23 to 26 and ladies walk is April 30 to May 3.

Our annual Highlands Flea will be on a new day this year, Friday, April 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Endowment/Memorial Committee has scheduled "Preparing For The Eventual" on May 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Attorney Lisa Reeves will speak about End-of-life planning, and Mr. Dewitt Smith, of the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas will give a presentation about endowments and memorials. Choir practice begins Wednesdays at 4 p.m.

Disciples Men Fellowship Breakfast will be Saturday, April 18, at 8:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

W-ELCA meets Monday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. for its general April meeting. Discussion and a slide presentation will be on the Frank Lloyd Wright Home. Men are welcome to attend this meeting.

Forest Hills Church

Forest Hills Church welcomes people of all faiths to their worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sundays. Pastor Susan Metcalf's sermon "Touch the Earth Lightly" coincides with the worldwide observance of Earth Day, April 22.

A casual drop-in coffee and sweets fellowship begins at 9 a.m. followed by adult Bible studies at 9:45 a.m.

The Wednesday noon April series "Touch the Earth Lightly," is a sack lunch, Bible study about being good stewards of the earth. Anyone in the community is welcome.

Presbyterian Church

An adult study group meets every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor.

Men's Fellowship meets for breakfast Saturday, April 18, at 8 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. A program will follow. The cost is $3 plus a canned food item for Helping Hands Food Pantry. Sign up at the Information Center.

Funds will be collected for the Cents-Ability Hunger Program to raise awareness against world hunger and poverty. The collection container is located in the connector hallway.

The Book Club will meet Thursday, April 23, at 10 a.m. in the parlor. All who are interested in good reads and lively discussion are welcome..

The monthly Birthday Luncheon will be Friday, April 24, at 11:30 a.m. Sign up at the Information Center to learn the location of this month's luncheon

Bella Vista Lutheran Church

Parent's Night Out will be April 15 starting at 5:30 p.m. with supper followed by games, crafts, songs, Bible stories and lots of fun. All children ages 3-12 are invited.

An Inquirer's Class led by Pastor Hass will meet in the Pastor's office at 9:45 a.m.. This informational class is for those interested in learning more about the beliefs of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or just as a refresher class. This six-week class began April 12..

There will be a Helping Hands work-day for Bella Vista Lutheran Church on April 18 from noon until 4 p.m.

The Shepherd's Food pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation requests include healthy cereals in addition to large-sized diapers (4-5-6). A shopping cart for your donations is in the Fellowship hall entry and also a container is in the church narthex.

The Sonshiners meet April 16 at 9 a.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. at the Highland Rehab. The ladies marathon bridge is at 12:30 p.m. also on April 16.

Bella Vista Christian Church

"God's Not Gray" is the title of a new series at Bella Vista Christian Church.

Two Sunday services are offered 9 and 10:45 a.m. KidTown for children birth -- Grade 5 is held during both services. Student Ministry Engage Study for those Grades 6-12 meets on Sunday evening at 6 p.m.

A new women's Bible study on the book of Jeremiah will begin Tuesday, April 14, at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Side by Side (senior, single ladies) will have a Beauty Party Tuesday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at the church. A skin care consultant will be on hand to give make-up and beauty tips. RSVP at 479-855-1616.

The Men's Ministry will have a 4-week DVD series entitled "Bonhoeffer", beginning Tuesday, April 14, at 7 p.m.

Students grades 6-12 will hold their Engage Worship Service on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The café will open at 5 p.m. for students on this night. .

BVCC Student Ministry will host an all-church spaghetti dinner at the church on Sunday, April 19, at 5 p.m. in their auditorium. A dessert auction will be included. Tickets at $5 each (maximum $20 a family) are for sale in the church office or on Sunday mornings. Everyone is welcome. Donations are for their summer trip to the Christ in Youth Move conference.

Sister2Sister will be making baskets for delivery on May Day Friday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the church Atrium.

Vacation Bible School will be June 7-11 in the evening. More information coming soon.

Sunday, April 19, Rev Skalitzky will present "Learning From Nature". Following the 10:30 a.m. service will be the Spiritual Cinema "Hachi: A Dog's Tale" starring Richard Gere and Joan Allen.

Book study continues "Discover the Power Within You" by Eric Butterworth each Sunday at 9 a.m. This book offers an opportunity to learn more about Unity teachings.

A Night Class and Meditation is held each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the church. These classes are filled with meaningful discussions on the issues of our lives from a metaphysical point of view. A quiet meditation follows the class.

Bella Vista Community Church

Join us for worship at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings, with coffee fellowship before and after the service. A staffed nursery is available, as well as a Children's Teaching Time for ages 4-12 during the worship service. Adult Sunday School meets from 8 to 9 a.m.

Free blood pressure checks are available each Wednesday in the nurses' office from 9: a.m. to noon. This service is also available the last Sunday of each month at 9 a.m. in the Parlor.

Wednesday night family activities begin at 6 p.m. with pizza followed at 6:30 p.m. by Bible Study for all ages. A nursery is provided.

A Newcomers' Orientation will be today, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Parlor. If you are interested in knowing more about Community Church, we invite you to attend.

UUBC

UUBC has relocated to 1110 SE Evergreen St. (Little Einstein Montessori School) in Bentonville near the southeast corner of 14th and J Streets. The Sunday service, begins at 11 a.m. and is preceded by coffee and social time beginning at 10:30 a.m.

On Sunday, April 19, David Al Jolliffe, University of Arkansas professor and Brown Chair in English Literacy, will give a talk on Transcendentalism, the religious and philosophical movement of the early 19th century associated with Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau and Margaret Fuller.

St. Bernard Catholic Church

A Parish Library Open House will be held Sunday, April 19. Parishioners and friends are invited to our newly restored Parish Library following the 9 a.m. Mass.

Teen fun night will be in the office conference room on Wednesday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. beginning with pizza.

St. Bernard's Parish will be delivering Meals on Wheels to the homebound in Bella Vista during the month of April.

Bingo is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. April 16 in the Parish Hall. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the Jackpot is at $1,000.

Village Baptist Church

Dr. Bill Bowen will bring the message at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, April 19.

Members and friends of Village Baptist Church want to express our love and gratitude to pastor, Dr. Bill Bowen for 15 years of faithful service. Pastor Bowen began his pastorate with in April of 2000. The celebration will be Sunday, April 19, during the morning service. There will be no evening service.

Village Bible Evangelical Free Church

Wednesday, April 15, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This ministry is available to anyone in our area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of our friendly volunteers.

A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the community is welcome. It is followed at 6:20 p.m. by singing, devotions and prayer for adults with activities for children and youth. Nursery for infants and toddlers is available and the community is invited.

Thursday, April 16, a Bible study from the book of Romans meets at the church at 6:30 p.m. Men and women in the community are welcome.

Sunday, April 19, Sunday school classes are offered for all ages at 9 a.m. followed by the 10 a.m. Worship Service. The community is welcome.

Sunday, April 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. the church is presenting The Third Target, a Joel Rosenberg Simulcast to answer questions about the horrific attacks by ISIS terrorists against Christians in the Middle East. The public is invited. Free will offerings are accepted.

Tuesday, April 21, a men's Bible study on Jeremiah meets at 7 p.m. Men from the community are welcome. A ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry meet at 7 p.m. on April 21 as well.

First United Methodist Church

Sunday morning worship services are now available on AT&T U-verse on channel 99 and Cox Cable channel 222.

Saturday, April 25, from 8:30 am to 1 p.m. will be our Church Work Day. Please bring a breakfast snack to share and come join us.

Men's Pancake Day will be Friday, May 1, from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Becker Hall. The meal includes pancakes, sausage or ham, applesauce, and drink. Tickets are $6 per person and can be purchased from any UMM member, in the church office, or at the door on Pancake Day. Proceeds help fund UMM mission projects.

FUMCBV will host the inaugural Bella Vista Mayor's Prayer Breakfast on National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 7, at 7 a.m. Mayor Peter Christie will speak, there will be special music by Daniel Salls, and prayers offered by several local pastors. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at Allen's Grocery, BV City Hall, or most local Bella Vista churches.

Moving Forward, a single men's fellowship group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m in Becker Hall. There is a Wesley Series Piano Concert featuring piano students from the University of Arkansas on Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The concert is free and open to the public.

United Methodist Men's Golf has started. Two 18-hole leagues play Mondays and Thursdays; and one 9-hole league on Tuesdays. All three leagues are "play by the week " leagues. UWM Bazaar workshops meet every Thursday from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. in the Quilt Room. Bring a sack lunch and come and go as you please.

Prayer Service is every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Youth Life meets Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for junior and senior high students.

Two weekly meetings of AA are being held at the church on Saturday and Monday. Call or stop by the church for more information.

Caregivers Support Group provides an essential support system for those who are primary caregivers of family or friend. They meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 9 a.m. Consider attending these meetings if you feel overwhelmed by your responsibilities as a caregiver.

Traditional services are held every Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., with a contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes for all ages are also held at 9:30 a.m. Nursery provided.
