Thursday, April 16

s Vocalist Liz Lottmann will be the featured guest at the Artist Retreat Center's Third Thursday House Concert at 7 p.m. on April 16. Joining Lottman will be John Hines on stand-up and electric bass and Max Taylor on guitar. The trio will be performing Latin-style jazz, blues and ballads. The Artist Retreat Center is located at 13467 Lookout Drive in Old Bella Vista, across from Lake Bella Vista.

Friday, April 17

s The Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will host its "Third Friday" Benefit Dinner at the Legion building in Pineville. The dinner will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary and will feature: pork tenderloin, potatoes, vegetable, salad, rolls, dessert and drinks. Serving will start at 4:30 p.m. A donation of $7 is requested and children age 12 and under, $5. Everyone is welcome and carry outs are available.

s A Gospel Sing-a-long will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. For more information contact Barb Compton at 479-876-1774. The public is welcome.

Saturday, April 18

s The Plaza will be celebrating its 10th anniversary from 1 to 4 p.m. in the lobby/activity area. The Plaza, which is Arkansas' first and only senior housing cooperative, is located at 1 Highlands Crossing. Bella Vista Mayor Peter Christie will be speaking at the celebration as well as presenting a proclamation to officials at the Plaza. There will be refreshments and entertainment at the event. Sunday, April 19

s The Bella Vista Library Foundation will have a fundraiser for its building fund on April 19. "A Taste for Wine and Murder" will be presented by the Foundation -- and everyone attending is a suspect. The "mystery dinner party" includes a full meal prepared by the Plaza chef. Some of the 50 guests will play roles during the event, but others will simply enjoy the intrigue.

s Live on Stage in NWA will present "Those Were the Days," at 2 p.m. at the Arend Arts Center on the Bentonville High School campus. William Florian, former lead singer for The New Christy Minstrels, will present an upbeat musical journey of the "Spirit & Songs of the 1960s. s The second annual Exceptional Woman Expo, sponsored by the Property Owners Association, will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 24, at the Bella Vista Country Club, 98 Clubhouse Drive. The event will feature food, fashion and fun. Tickets are $20 and the quantity is limited, so hurry to reserve your place. s The inaugual NWA Veterans Ball will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 24, at the Rogers Activity Center, 315 W. Olive St. There will be live music, a raffle, refreshments and finger food. Proceeds from the event go to the Wounded Warrior Project. The ball is free to military and their spouses. For others attending , the cost is $25 for singles and $40 a couple. Saturday, April 25

s The Bella Vista Animal Shelter will have its Spring Brats and Dogs fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Allen's Foods in the Sugar Creek Shopping Center. The event will take place rain or shine. The brat meal costs $4 and the hot dog meal costs $3. Each meal also will include caramelized onions, kraut, chips, dessert and a soft beverage. In addition there will be a variety of dog pillows and child TV viewing pillows. All proceeds from the event will benefit the animal shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way.
