Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

Sunday, Sept. 28, is UU Learn Sunday. UU Learn is a new addition to the Sunday format. It takes a program from the Unitarian Universalists Association and develops it for a quarter of the year. Titled UU 101, the first program is based on the New UUA Tapestry of Faith Program for Adults by Jonalu Johnstone. Andee DeRouen will be the trainer for this program each month for three months.

Each Sunday service begins with an all-inclusive opening and ends with a traditional closing. The program usually lasts 30-40 minutes. Coffee and social time starts at 10:30 a.m. and the program is at 11 a.m. Sunday school is available for children through age 15.

Beginning Oct. 5, UUBC will relocate to 1110 S.E. Evergreen St., at Little Einstein Montessori School in Bentonville, near the southeast corner of 14th and J streets.

United Lutheran

Women of United, from the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, will attend the Arkansas-Oklahoma Women of ELCA convention Sept. 26-28 at St. John Lutheran Church in Shawnee, Okla.

Ninevah Shepherd Group will have a golf outing and pizza party beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.

Singing Men of Arkansas will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at United Lutheran. The public is invited. There will be refreshments after the concert. Admission is a free-will offering.

The following Bible study circles will meet Oct. 1: Deborah, Elizabeth, Mary, Naomi and Rachel.

Priscilla Circle will meet at the church Monday, Oct. 6.

Hannah Circle will gather at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Men's Club breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8. Matt Cleveland, Arkansas Sheriffs' Youth Ranch representative, will be the speaker.

Presbyterian Church

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 24, and continuing each Wednesday until near Thanksgiving, "Doc" Irwin will be presenting "Old Testament History and Literature." This study will be from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista and is open to the community.

Fall Christian Education Workshops will be held Thursday, Sept. 25, and Friday, Sept. 26, from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. each day. The topics will be: "Making End of Life Decisions," "The Presence of the Holy in Architecture," "Paul on Pagans -- The Apostle to the Gentiles" and "Solar Under the Sun: Honduras Mission." All women of the church are invited to the monthly Ladies Birthday Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26. Sign up at the information center to learn the location.

Presbyterian Women will be gathering for the Cluster 1 Fall Gathering Saturday, Oct. 4, at First Presbyterian Church in Springdale. The registration form and a $10 check are due Wednesday, Sept. 24.There is a sign-up sheet in the connector hallway.

On Sunday, Sept. 28, and the fourth Sunday of each month, food items will be collected for the Helping Hands food pantry in Bentonville. Canned vegetables are requested this month, although any food items or monetary donations are appreciated.

Presbyterian Women's Mission Sewing will gather in the fellowship hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2. Come for all or part of the day to help with projects.

Highland Christian (Disciples of Christ)

The annual indoor yard and bake sale will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 25 and 26, and from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday inside the church.

Village Baptist

Wednesday evening choir practice starts at 5:45 at Village Baptist Church and is followed by prayer and Bible study at 7 p.m.

Wednesday Night Family Activities at Bella Vista Community Church start at 6 p.m. with pizza, followed at 6:30 by Prayers to My King Bible study for all ages. A nursery is provided.

Catholic Church

Evangelical Free

Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church.
