Christian Women

"Living Portraits" is the theme of the Bella Vista Christian Women's Club brunch scheduled from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd.

The feature is Jim and Virginia Bryant with a portrait of Mark Twain. Guest speaker Anita Agers-Brooks of Steelville, Mo., will share her story, "I Look Like My Daddy." Men are welcome to attend the brunch this month.

An all-American style breakfast buffet is served. The cost is $10.

AARP Chapter 109

AARP Chapter 109 will meet at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the fellowship hall at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. The program will feature the Bella Vista Men's Chorus with a business meeting to follow. The public is invited to attend.

Beta Sigma Phi

The Bella Vista Iota Alpha Chapter will gather Oct. 8 with Sharon Reeves as hostess and Donna Beatty serving as co-hostess. Social time will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will be at 10. Jan Thurman will present the program.

The service project this month is a donation to the Bella Vista Boys and Girls Club as well as items for Saving Grace and Oasis.

Iowa Club

A pork roast is planned for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Kingsdale Pavilion. Drinks will be furnished. The cost is $11.50 per person. If this is the first time attending an Iowa Club event in 2014, dues of $5 per person need to be added.

Ladies' Day Out

The ladies will be going on a walking tour in Neosho, Mo., on Tuesday, Oct. 21, to see several historical murals at the Newton County Courthouse. Lunch will follow at Cafe Angelica. Andante Music Club

This Bella Vista club will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Highland Christian Church on Forest Hills Boulevard. The public is invited to come and enjoy an afternoon of music. The meeting will begin with a medley of songs played by Martha Sheets on the piano. The program will feature Miranda Bennett, pianist. The hymn of the month is "All Things Bright and Beautiful" and the folk song is "Home Sweet Home."

Lions Club

Debby Weineke, executive director of Habitat for Humanity, will be the guest speaker Tuesday, Oct. 7. The public is invited as guests.

Dinner buffet meetings begin at 5:45 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the main building at Concordia Retirement Center, 1 Concordia Drive, in Bella Vista. All guests are welcome to attend. The optional buffet is $9 per person.
