Don't force another assessment vote

Well, it's only been two months and the POA is at it again, trying to jam another assessment increase down our throats.

When are they going to understand, this is not the Bella Vista of yesteryear. The majority of residents set their alarm clocks each night to rise early for work, not for a tee time.

When is the last time any of you residents have seen an itemized accountability list for each and every dollar the POA takes in -- our money?

This should be included voluntarily by the POA with our water bill newsletter at least semiannually. Each month, we send in our assessment fee. Is it money gone for good?

Bella Vista is now a city, why do we need two governing bodies?

I suggest the POA sell off the money-sucking golf courses and amenity facilities to the highest bidder. Include a stipulation that the new owners must give Bella Vista residents a 10 or 15 percent discount for membership and usage.

If you want to use the facilities, you pay for the usage.

Don't force it upon a family through assessments -- a family that may be living on a fixed income or too busy raising kids and paying bills to even think about a round of golf.

I think the next vote the residents of Bella Vista should take is what moving company the POA should use to say goodbye.
