Benefit concert

top-notch event

The free Bella Vista Big Band Christmas concert at Riordan Hall on Saturday, Nov. 29, to benefit CASA of Northwest Arkansas was an event no big band music lover should have missed.

The 14-piece band, under the direction of Charlie Danielson, played continuously for two hours. The singer, Susan Wizer, was a big hit with the audience. Thank you, Charlie and your band. Keep the memories of the big band era alive.

A hearty thanks to all who attended and contributed to CASA. For more than 16 years, CASA has served the most vulnerable children in our community.

In all, 527 children and youth had the sustained personal attention of a CASA volunteer in the year ending June 2014.

But with more than 1,000 children passing through foster care each year, there are simply not enough volunteers to go around. That is why CASA has made a commitment -- a promise to our children to put a CASA volunteer into the life of every child who needs one. It's a commitment to match a CASA volunteer with every child in the system by 2020.

Become a CASA volunteer and donate today. Contact CASA of Northwest Arkansas, 3825 Cawood Lane, Springdale, AR 72762 or go to its website: www.nwacasa.org.
