Village participates in Patriot Golf Day

Golfers will have the opportunity to participate in Patriot Golf Day 2014 from Aug. 25 through Sept. 1 on all of Bella Vista Village's golf courses.

All proceeds from the program will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which is designed to provide educational scholarships for the children and spouses of service members who are either killed or disabled while serving in the military.

For the eighth year, golfers in Bella Vista Village and around the country will have the opportunity to donate $1 or more to this cause. Each local golf shop will provide a donation box for golfers to give back to those who have sacrificed everything. Last year, Bella Vista Village golfers successfully raised nearly $700.

On Monday, Sept. 1, each 18-hole facility will offer a closest-to-the-pin contest for $2 per person. The prize is a dozen golf balls. All proceeds from the contest will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation.

In addition, there will be a raffle for a Bridgestone golf bag, as well as My Joy custom golf shoes. The shoe count will be based on the number of tickets sold. Raffle tickets may be purchased for $5 at any of the village's golf shops and at the Golf Division office, 98 Clubhouse Drive.

"With a large veteran population, this is a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts," said Andy Mar, golf operations manager.
