'white goods' pickup

The Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association will sponsor a fall "white goods" pickup from Oct. 6-10.

Residents must call between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, through Thursday, Oct. 2, to schedule a pickup.

White goods, which consist of washers, dryers, ranges, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water heaters, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers, will be collected on the customer's regularly scheduled trash day. Appliances must be on the street by 6 a.m. on the collection day.

To register, call 479-855-5093. This number will be activated to accept calls on Sept. 29.

Residents will receive a reference number at the time of registration. The number must be clearly visible on the appliance during pickup.

-- Special to The Weekly Vista

Bella Vista residents are reminded that Republic Services also will collect one bulky item each week. Bulky items consist of household and lawn furniture, electronics and lawn mowers. The bulky item will be picked up during the resident's regular weekly trash collection. The waste company does not accept tires, batteries, oil or hazardous materials.

In addition, Benton County's Environmental Services will sponsor a free fall cleanup for all residents from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Benton County Road Departments in Bentonville, Decatur and Garfield.

Benton County residents will be allowed to dispose of bulky household items, foam packaging, electronics, metals, tires and recyclables. Additionally, the Bentonville location will offer document shredding and disposal of household hazardous waste, including automotive products, batteries, paints and thinners, household pesticides and herbicides, and fluorescent and HID light bulbs.

For a complete list of accepted items, call 479-271-1083.
