Beta Sigma Phi

The Iota Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet Wednesday, Sept. 10, with Becky Fox as hostess and Shirley Sheets serving as co-hostess. Social time will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will be at 10. Shirley Sheets will present the program.

This month's service project will be collecting school supplies for Cooper Elementary School.

Roundtable

The Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Old Store annex of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, 118 W. Johnson Ave. in Springdale. Rick Marshall of Paranormal Ozarks Investigations will present a program on "Ghost Hunts at Prairie Grove Battlefield."

Homesteaders

The Homesteaders will gather at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Concordia of Bella Vista. Steve Schotta, executive director of the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter, will present the program.

Members are being asked to bring items for a silent auction.

Breakfast Lions

The Bentonville Breakfast Lions Club and Brad Baker, chief executive officer of Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing Services, were honored to have Dr. C. William Hof of BoozmanHof Regional Eye Center as a guest speaker at a recent club meeting.

BoozmanHof has been a partner with BBLC and Mid-South Lions in providing eye conservation for indigenous people since 1996. This partnership has allowed for surgical eye operations for more than 300 individuals.

Each year the need for services increases, and the BBLC asks the northwest Arkansas community to help support this cause by visiting Nightmares Haunted House in October -- http://nightmareshauntedhouse.org -- and by participating in Lions White Cane Day Collections on Mother's Day.

Andante Music Club

The Andante Music Club is opening its fall season with a lunch at noon Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Highland Christian Church on Forest Hills Boulevard. New members are welcome to come, get acquainted with the group and find out what the club does to promote the enjoyment of music in Bella Vista. The program will feature violinist Samantha Akers.

Andante is affiliated with the Arkansas and National Federation of Music Clubs. Any questions about the September meeting may be directed to the club's president, Joretta Evans, at 479-876-5331.

Lions Club

Linda Hook and Lisa King of Gentry's Wild Wilderness Safari will be the guest speakers Tuesday, Sept. 2. They will enlighten members and guests about the drive-through zoo.

The club is offering free learning opportunities to members. Annual memberships are $20 with additional family members joining for half price.

• Computer Security, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 18;

• Genealogy Special Interest Group, from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 20;

• PC Maintenance: Protect and Recover, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23.

Open House Help Clinics will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 3, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 6 and 17. These clinics are a free service for members. Bring tower, laptop, tablet or smartphone for problem solving.

Kingsdale Squares

Ladies Day Out
