s 6:30 p.m. Bingo will be played at St. Bernard Catholic Church of Bella Vista, 1 St. Bernard Lane. Doors and a snack bar open at 5:45 p.m. and play starts at 6:30. The jackpot is always set at $1,000, and all proceeds go to local charities. The community is welcome.

Friday, Aug. 22

s 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will conduct a blood drive at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church, 210 Town Center S.E., in Bella Vista. Types A positive, A negative and O negative are especially needed. To be eligible to give blood, a person must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and present photo identification. Each donation will be awarded LifePoints as a part of CBCO's donor rewards program. s 7 to 9 p.m. The Fourth Friday photography event at The Artist Retreat Center in Bella Vista will feature "Our Father's Tools," a series by Dallas photographer, Danny Hurley. Hurley will be available via Skype to answer questions about his work and discuss his technique. In addition, two northwest Arkansas musical instrument makers, John Cook and Josh Blades, will bring some of their hand tools and handmade instruments for display and talk with guests. The ARC is located at 13467 Lookout Drive on U.S 71B.

Saturday, Aug. 23

s 5 to 9 p.m. Granny's Quilts of Love invites the public to its annual dinner and auction in the cafeteria at Pea Ridge High School. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and the auction will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The meal includes pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, pickle, chips, homemade dessert and drink. The cost is $6 per adult and $4 per child with children 2 and under eating for free. The club will raffle off two prizes -- $1,000 cash and a Bosch dishwasher. s 7 p.m. The Little O' Oprey Country Music Showcase opens at the corner of Main and Campbell in West Fork. The evening will feature a house band and guest entertainers. A full snack bar is on site. s 7 p.m. Bella Vista Community Concert Band will perform a free concert in Blowing Springs Park. The Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club will sell picnic suppers from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. with proceeds being donated to area nonprofit organizations. The park is located east of U.S. 71 on Dartmoor Road.

s 7 p.m. The Bella Vista Men's Chorus will present its fall concert -- "Say It With Music!" -- at Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. A combination of secular, gospel and contemporary music will be presented under the direction of Bill Hesse with Marilyn Lee providing accompaniment on piano. Irving Berlin music will be featured. Guest artists will be Virginia Paschal on the violin and Willa Avery Thomason on the cello. The ArkAppella chorus, under the direction of Prudence Hagan, will also be on the program. s 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. New and antique quilts will be for show and sale during the 37th Ozark Quilt Fair on the grounds of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, 118 W. Johnson Ave. in downtown Springdale. Cash prize Viewer's Choice awards will be given. The entry fee is $10 per exhibitor. Entry deadline is Sept. 10. s 7 p.m. The Greater Ozarks Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will present its annual show -- "This is BARBERSHOP!" -- in the performing arts center at Arkansas Arts Academy, 506 W. Poplar in Rogers. Hosting the program is the Pride of the Ozarks Barbershop Chorus, along with local favorite, Melody Lane, and other area ensembles. Featured will be Premium Blend, a quartet from Springfield and Kansas City, Mo., that reached the semifinals in international competition in Las Vegas this summer. s 3 p.m. Bella Vista Community Concert Band will present its final concert of the season in Becker Hall at the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive.
