Free health services, programs announced

The Schmieding Center in Bella Vista has released its September schedule of free, health-related programs.

All will take place at the Bella Vista Health Resource Center in Highlands Crossing, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd. Call 479-876-2335 for other information.

• BrightStar Home Care will offer a blood pressure and equipment check from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 2.

• Right At Home In Home Care & Assistance will present "Design Your Mind" from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 3.

• Miracle Ear will clean and check hearing aids from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3.

• Schmieding CARES will offer a memory screening from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 4. Call 479-876-2335 to register.

• Alliance Home Health will do a blood pressure screening from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9.

• Health South will present "Fall, Risk Prevention" from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.

• Highlands Health and Rehab will do glucose screenings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.

• Ellen Creakbaum will lead a Family Caregiver Workshop on "Basic Home Caregiving Skills" from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 16. This will take place at the Bella Vista Health Resource Center in cooperation with the Caregivers Village House Care Recipients.

• Elite Home Health will provide a blood pressure and equipment check clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17.

• Tracy Lynn Cox will present "Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate" from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17. The cost is $10 per person, and attendees may bring a new friend for free.

• Better Hearing & Balance Connection will do hearing tests and aid adjustments from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18.

• Kristin Bosc, Ph.D., will present a Lunch and Learn program on memory loss from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road. Call 1-800-734-2024 to register.

• Schmieding Center of Bella Vista will sponsor the 2014 Senior Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive. This is the 25th anniversary of this event.
