Bella Vista Fly Tyers
The Bella Vista Fly Tyers fishing club will host David Schiffler, historian, on Thursday, Aug. 21. Schiffler will discuss Arkansas' involvement in the Civil War. The session begins at 9:30 a.m. at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista. Visitors are welcome.

Travel Club
The club will review some of the trips planned for 2014-15 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Village Insurance Community Room, 2838 Bella Vista Way.
Some of the trips are: Mexican Riviera Cruise; California New Year's Getaway featuring the Tournament of Roses Parade; Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico; the Panama Canal; and a Mississippi River Cruise.
Anyone who enjoys traveling with friends is invited to join the club on one or more of the trips that are planned. Suggestions are also welcome.

NWA Genealogical Society
The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 S. Main. Sirens Evans from Pea Ridge National Military Park will give an overview of events leading up to the Battle of Pea Ridge and events during that Civil War battle. The public is welcome. Quilt Guild
The guild will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, in the sanctuary at the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive. Social hour begins around noon.
Vickey Beasley will give a program on scrap quilting. She will share how to organize scraps by color and size, and how to turn them into a work of art. The vendor will be Country House Quilting of Pea Ridge. Show-and-tell will follow a brief business meeting.

Kansas Sunflower Club
The Kansas Sunflower Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, in the Village Insurance Community Room for a pizza luncheon and bingo.
