Hoot 'n Holler

Cloggers

The fall session for the Hoot 'n Holler Cloggers starts Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista.

A beginning class will be offered at 3:30 p.m. with the regular class following at 4:30.

A 10-session punch card can be purchased for $30 at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive. A copy of the class schedule can be picked up during registration.

Kingsdale Squares

The Squares will dance from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Riordan Hall. Grant Roth will be the caller. For information, call 479-876-8432.

Kansas Club

The Kansas Club will have its annual picnic at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, in the Village Insurance Community Room. Everyone is to bring a covered dish that will feed eight people. Lions Club

Kelly Dostart, manager of Bank of the Ozarks, and Linda Lloyd of CHIPS -- Citizens to Help Improve Public Safety -- will be the guest speakers Tuesday, Aug. 19.

The dinner buffet meeting begins at 5:45 p.m. in the main building at Concordia Retirement Center, 1 Concordia Drive, in Bella Vista. All guests are welcome to attend. The optional buffet is $9 per person. Phone Myrna McGee at 479-633-3881 or email her at [email protected] to make reservations.

Granny's Quilts

of Love

Members cut 160 quilt kits July 15 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. Since its inception, the group has donated a total of 18,000 quilts to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

The annual dinner and auction will be held Aug. 23 in the cafeteria at Pea Ridge High School. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and the auction will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The meal includes pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, pickles, chips, homemade desserts and drinks. The cost is $6 per adult and $4 per child with children 2 and under eating for free.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Presbyterian church, 1300 N. Davis. This will be the last meeting before the dinner and auction, so it is important for all members to attend.

Book Club

Nyte Tyme Quilters

Bella Vista Nyte Tyme Quilters will gather at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, located on the corner of Cooper Road and Arkansas 279. Dottie Law will present this month's program. There will also be a show-and-tell portion of the meeting to share completed personal projects.

Ladies Day Out

The ladies will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, in the parking lot across the street from Arvest Bank in Bella Vista's Town Center and will carpool to Napoli's Italian Restaurant in Rogers, then take in a show and/or shop. Call 479-855-4393 for reservations or information.

Woodcarvers Club

Members of the Bella Vista Woodcarvers Club will be demonstrating their carving skills at "Tired Irons of the Ozarks" from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry.

The club will also give demonstrations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, during Bella Vista Hay Days, located at the Bella Vista Arts and Crafts Festival grounds on Arkansas highways 279 and 340.

Regular meetings take place from 1 to 3 p.m. every Thursday at Riordan Hall. Guests are always welcome.

Embroiderer's Guild of America

The Embroiderer's Guild of America will have its monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista. Anyone interested in the needle arts is welcome to attend. For more information, call Rose Bray at 417-592-5995.

Sunrise Rotary Club

At the Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club's meeting Wednesday, Aug. 20, representatives from the Gravette School District will provide information on the upcoming millage vote to build an elementary school near the Highlands gate.
