St. Bernard

Catholic Church

Bingo will be played Thursdays, Aug. 7 and 21, at St. Bernard Catholic Church of Bella Vista. Doors and a snack bar open at 5:45 p.m. and play starts at 6:30. The jackpot is always set at $1,000, and all proceeds go to local charities. The community is welcome.

The Women's Club is gathering school supplies for children in need. Supplies may be dropped off in the parish hall prior to Sunday, Aug. 17.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets in room 202 at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday and at 7 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Al-Anon meets Mondays at 7 p.m. in room 203.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults classes will be held again beginning Sept. 10. All are welcome to this open class to learn more about the Catholic faith. Sessions are held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the church hall.

Village Bible

Evangelical Free

Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church.

Also Wednesday, the Building Committee will meet at 4 p.m. and the Church Services Board will have a 5:30 p.m. dinner meeting. The family potluck dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by family praise and prayer fellowship plus children's and youth activities at 6:20 p.m. Worship Team practice starts at 7:30 p.m.

Ron Morris will lead the Bible study on 1 Peter at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. This study is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Sunday school classes will be available for all ages at 9 a.m. Aug. 10, followed by the 10 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Mark Voll will continue his preaching series on "Truth and Consequences." The sermon is titled "The Eyes Have It," from 2 Samuel 11-12. An infant nursery and children's church will be available during the service.

Intercessory Prayer for the Building Program will be held at the church at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11. The Elder Board will convene at 6 p.m.

Morris will lead the men's Bible study on Romans at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12. The ladies' KniTTogether ministry and White Cross EFCA Women's Mission ministry also meet at 7.

Unity Church

of the Ozarks

An Abundance Prayer Team is forming for those committed to being in prayer for each person in the Unity Church community and for the community as a whole for 30 days.

The Rev. Edie Skalitzky will present "Secrets of a Happy and Fulfilling Life -- Part 2" on Sunday, Aug. 10. Following the service, the Quarterly Congregation Gathering will take place. There will be an update on various aspects of the church as well as the search for a new home.

A Wednesday night class and meditation are open to anyone who would like to have more time to explore life in different perspectives with the basis of Unity's metaphysical way of thinking. The class begins at 7 p.m. and is followed by a time of meditation.

The "Got Talent" show, art show, raffle and silent auction will be held Sept. 20.

Wednesday Night Meals will be served at 5:30 p.m. throughout August at Bella Vista Baptist Church.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

Aug. 10 is Discussion Group Sunday. Discussion groups provide an opportunity to explore the previous homily's topic, the previous Topic Forum subject as well as an opportunity to discuss a current event or topic of concern among the group. This group is affectionately named "As You Like It." Each group has a facilitator, who may or may not be the presenter of the previous homily and topic presentations.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County meets at the Elks Club, 501 S. 40th St., in Rogers. Sunday services begin with an all-inclusive opening and a traditional closing. Coffee and social time is at 10:30 a.m., and the program starts at 11 a.m. and usually lasts 30 to 40 minutes. Sunday school is available for children through age 15.

The Forest Hills Church community welcomes people of all faiths to its Sunday activities. Presbyterian Church

Presbyterian Women will be attending a retreat from Aug. 7-9 at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center in Little Rock. The title of the retreat is "Enough."

The Missions and Fellowship committees of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista will host a back-to-school event at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, for the annual collection of school supplies. More details will follow. Early shoppers may obtain a supply list at the information center.

The Chancel Choir is taking a break during the summer. Special music will be presented each Sunday until the choir returns Sept. 7.

An exercise class meets from 8 to 8:45 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the fellowship hall. It is free of charge and open to the community.

Shepherd's Food Pantry helps feed those in need from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. The congregation has been urged to contribute to the pantry's restocking with jelly, peanut butter and cereal. Sugar or gluten-free items are greatly appreciated. Donations from visitors are also welcome and may be dropped off in the fellowship hall at Bella Vista Lutheran Church between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

A traditional worship service is offered at 8:30 a.m. Sunday and a blended service is at 10:45. Sunday school and adult Bible classes begin at 9:45 a.m.

Highlands Church

A "Lord, Teach Us to Pray" weekend begins Saturday, Aug. 9, with a prayer workshop at 3 p.m. A second workshop will take place at noon Sunday. The weekend will conclude at 6 p.m. Sunday with Holy Communion and a healing service. All are invited.

The annual Homes Tour will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance or $12 the day of the event. Other activities at the church include a car show and an antiques and collectibles appraisal from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and an antiques and collectibles sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch will be for sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

GriefShare is a grief recovery support group where people can find help and healing for the hurt of losing a loved one. The group meets weekly and is looking to start a new session. The class is free to attend, and a person need not be a member of Highlands Church to participate. Anyone interested in attending should phone the church office at 479-855-2277.
