Registration opens for WELLFEST

SILOAM SPRINGS -- The fourth annual WELLFEST! family event hosted by Bridges to Wellness is set for June 14 in downtown Siloam Springs.

The event features 10- and 50-mile bike rides and a 5k race. New to the event this year is three-on-three basketball.

The all-day event also includes free options for families, such as a 5-mile bike ride, a 1-mile fun run and a family fun challenge. Other free activities include Zumba, CrossFit, yoga, Tae Kwon Do, pickleball, Frisbee, healthy cooking demonstrations and recipes.

The event kicks off with the 5k race at 8 a.m., followed by the 10- and 50-mile bike rides at 8:30. The 50-mile ride starts and ends at Bob Henry Park in downtown Siloam Springs. The course showcases northwest Benton County as it goes north through Gentry and then past Decatur and back.

The 10-mile bike ride is a scenic route that takes Dawn Hill Road past Siloam Springs Lake and down North Country Club Road before coming back through downtown Siloam Springs to Bob Henry Park.

Registration is open online at WELLFEST2014.eventbrite.com. Registration costs are $10 for the 5k and 10-mile bike ride and $20 for the 50-mile bike ride. The first 500 participants receive a T-shirt. Other paid events include sand volleyball and three-on-three basketball. Registration costs increase by $5 after June 11.
