Save our ship

Once again I'm appealing to all Bella Vista property owners to vote for the POA proposed assessment increase.

The candidates on the ballot all appear to understand, to their credit, and favor the increase for the good of our association and community.

That makes 12 unanimous supporters between the candidates and current board members who are or will be elected by the property owners to look out for our best interests in maintaining and enhancing our assets and amenities for the future.

Note all these folks are giving of their time and expertise to work with their fellow property owners for the common good. Unlike their critics, they have no reason or political motivation to disrupt our community.

My message to all my friends and fellow property owners is it's time for us to step up to support our investment and expectations of what Bella Vista offers us.

We have the best community support arrangement possible through the city for our municipal services and the POA for our amenities.

A very professional task force worked for at least a year planning the city incorporation, and afterward we have invested years in the transition of municipal services.

No other community in northwest Arkansas has both the municipal services and amenities comparable to ours in quantity, quality or cost. Let's keep it that way.

When we market our community going forward more aggressively -- a commitment already made by both the city and POA -- all our properties, improved and unimproved, will benefit in value, and our population can grow and be refreshed with folks who appreciate the life in Bella Vista.

This increase is an important step toward maintaining and enhancing our quality of life and the value of our properties. A vote in favor is a vote for the future.
