Bella Vista Baptist

WOM meets at 9 a.m. the first Wednesday each month in the fellowship hall at Bella Vista Baptist Church.

Threads of Love gathers at 9:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month in room 143B.

Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting is held at 5:45 p.m. in the old sanctuary.

The Children's Choir rehearses at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, and the Adult Choir meets at 6 p.m. Youth activities also start at 6 p.m.

Wednesday Night Family Meals are served at 4:45 p.m.

AWANA meets every Wednesday from 6:15 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Men's Prayer Breakfast is held every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. They are studying the Book of Joshua.

Senior Adult Ministries hosts an ice cream and movie night at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Friday of the month. All adults are welcome.

Village Bible Evangelical Free

Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church.

Also Wednesday, the Building Committee will meet at 4 p.m. The family potluck dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by family praise and prayer fellowship plus children's and youth activities at 6:20 p.m. Choir practice starts at 7:30 p.m., and the Worship Team rehearses at 8 p.m.

The monthly Church Family Breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Papa Mike's at Kingsdale. The Hebrews Bible study, led by the Rev. Ron Morris, will meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. This study is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

On Sunday, April 27, the first worship service will be at 8:30 a.m. The annual congregational meeting will be held at 10 a.m. There will be no adult or youth Sunday school classes; however, classes for children will be available at 10 a.m. The second worship service will be at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Voll will begin a new preaching series from Philippians titled "Embrace the Joy." Infant nursery and children's church will be available at the second service.

At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a ministry team from the church will provide a chapel service at The Meadows independent and assisted living facility in Bentonville.

Intercessory Prayer for the Building Program will be held at the church at 9 a.m. Monday, April 28.

On Tuesday, April 29, the ladies' Bible study titled "Jesus' Final Week" will meet at 9:30 a.m. with Joanne Morris leading the study. The men's Bible study on 2 Peter, led by the Rev. Ron Morris, the ladies' KniTTogether ministry and White Cross EFCA Women's Mission ministry will meet at 7 p.m.

First United Methodist

A prayer service is offered at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista.

Youth Life meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. for junior and senior high students.

The Bella Vista Women's Chorus will present "Music for a While," with soloist Pam Pittman and flutist Kim Bacao, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, in the sanctuary.

Members of the church's Chancel Bells will be participating in an area handbell festival this Saturday, April 26, at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, 6 W. Dickson St. It will be under the direction of Joel Raney, nationally known composer and arranger. To conclude the festival, a concert will be held at 3:30 p.m., to which everyone is invited.

The NWA Community Classical Piano Student Concert Series will present a concert in FUMC's sanctuary at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26. Admission is free.

Caregivers Support Group provides an essential support system for those who are primary caregivers of family or friend. They meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 9 a.m. in room 5. On April 28, a representative from the Area Agency on Aging will answer questions about available services provided by the agency. Anyone is invited to attend and to bring questions.

United Methodist Men's Pancake Day is slated from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 2, in Becker Hall. Pancakes, ham or sausage, applesauce, coffee and milk will be served for $6 per person. Tickets can be bought from any UMM member, in the church office or at the door on Pancake Day. Proceeds help fund UMM mission projects.

Bazaar workshops are held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Thursday in the quilt room downstairs. Snacks will be available; those planning to stay the day may bring a sack lunch. No particular talent is required, but those with sewing abilities are greatly appreciated.

Traditional services are held every Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with a contemporary service at 9:30. Sunday school classes for all ages are also held at 9:30 a.m. A nursery is provided.

Highlands Church

On April 27, Ernest Grilk will lead the JAM adult Sunday school class in a discussion and Scripture reading session based on a book by Leslie Weatherhead.

The TAN adult Sunday school class started a new session April 6 on a DVD series titled "The Early Church: Conquering the gates of hell." The group meets at 8:30 a.m.

The annual Highland Flea will take place from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26. Items for sale inside will include pre-owned items, jewelry, baked goods, crafts and golf items. There will also be a coffee shop. All proceeds are donated to local women's and children's charities.

The Prayer Team is sponsoring two special times for focused prayer on Thursday, May 1, in observance of National Day of Prayer. The sanctuary will be open from 9 to 10 a.m. and from 6 until 7 p.m. People may come and pray alone or with a spouse, friends or a group. Visitors may kneel at the altar or sit in the pews, and stay as long as needed.

As part of a churchwide spiritual growth campaign, the Education Team is offering a six-week study, from May 11 through June 15, based on the film "Son of God: The Life of Jesus in You." It will be presented via DVD by the Rev. Rick Warren. Contact the church office for more information.

Men's Bible study on the Book of Hebrews takes place at 9 a.m. Friday at Village Baptist Church.

The Rev. Bill Bowen will bring the message at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, April 27. Children's Church for ages 4 through sixth grade is offered with a puppet ministry during morning worship in the fellowship hall.

Kristen's Krafts from the Women's Group will learn how to make a "Wild and Wacky" hat at 10 a.m. Monday, May 5.

A men's breakfast will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Golden Corral.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

April 27 is Social Sunday. The fellowship has a potluck meal, and often there are activities that provide the opportunity for all ages to interact and share. Members are welcome to bring a dish to share. Guests may just attend and enjoy the selections.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County meets at the Elks Club, 501 S. 40th St., in Rogers. Each Sunday service begins with an all-inclusive opening and a traditional closing. Coffee and social time begins at 10:30 a.m., and the program begins at 11 a.m. and usually lasts 30 to 40 minutes. Sunday school is available for children through age 15.

Bella Vista Lutheran

Friendly Stitchers will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Bella Vista Lutheran Church.

Shepherd's Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Friday. The next "Each One -- Bring One" is for canned fruit and Jell-O. Other basic items people need are canned vegetables, boxed potatoes, meal helpers, flour, sugar or suitable foods for diabetics. In March, the pantry served 440 people from 121 families. Nineteen new families came for the first time last month. A shopping cart for donations is in the fellowship hall entry and a container is located in the church narthex. Monetary donations are also welcome.

Presbyterian Church

Ladies of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista are invited to the monthly birthday luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 25. Sign up at the information center to learn the location.

On Sunday, April 27, and the fourth Sunday of each month, food items will be collected for the Helping Hands food pantry in Bentonville. The requested food items this month are pasta, rice and beans, although any food items or monetary donations would be appreciated.

The Missions Committee and children of the church continue to collect items to assemble packets for the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter. The Sunday School children recently packed another 40 personal care bags. A supply list of items for the packets is available in the connector hallway. A packet is given to each child when they leave the shelter.

Bingo will be played Thursday, May 1. Doors and a snack bar open at 5:45 p.m. and play starts at 6:30. The blackout jackpot is always $1,000, and all proceeds go to local charities. The community is welcome.

A healing prayer service is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4. The Mass Team from Little Portion will join the congregation and will be singing the Lord's praises. All are welcome.

Bella Vista Christian

A new Sunday Talk series titled "True Spirituality" will begin April 27 at both the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services. KidTown Children's Ministries is offered at both times for children from birth through fifth grade, and Radiate Students for grades 6-12 meets at 10:45 a.m.

A Haitian Reflections lunch will be held 12:15 p.m. this Sunday in the atrium. The Haiti Team will provide the meal and give a short presentation on their recent serving trip to Haiti. Everyone is welcome. RSVP on the church website -- www.bellavistachristian.com.

The Men's Ministry will be attending a Rugged Faith Boot Camp from April 25-26 in Pea Ridge. The cost is $60 and registration can be completed through the church website.

The Vintage Gospel Lads will present their farewell concert at 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the church. There is no charge for the program, but a love offering will be taken. The community is invited.
