Two courses to
allow carts off path
Golf carts will be allowed off paths at the Bella Vista Country Club and Highlands golf courses, weather permitting, beginning April 16.
Once carts go off paths, the Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association asks that golfers use the 90 degree rule -- especially throughout April -- since this is a period when the Bermuda is still weak and vulnerable to cart damage.
Cart restrictions may still apply due to rain. Players will need to check while at the golf shops.
Fair offers activities for kids, families
The Property Owners Association's fifth annual "It's All About Kids" fair will run from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 26, at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive.
Children will be able to sign up for the Bella Vista Swim Team and swimming lessons offered at the village's pools, as well as register for this summer's golf and tennis camps and Camp Bella Vista. Adults will have the opportunity to sign up for fitness and water aerobics classes and purchase season pool passes.

Village to host senior women's tourney
The 22nd annual Senior Women's Tournament is scheduled for April 28-29.
Bella Vista Village's female golfers, age 50 and older, and their guests may now register for the tournament, which will consist of 36 holes at the Kingswood Golf Course. The tournament will take place Monday, April 28, and Tuesday, April 29. Both days will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Flights of approximately 10 teams each will be pre-established based on the total team handicap index. Golfers not included in the Bella Vista Handicap System must have valid copies of handicap cards.
The entry fee is $80 per team, which does not include green fees or cart rental. The field is limited to 72 teams. The last day to register is Monday, April 21.

Lions Classic needs players, sponsors
Golfers and sponsors are needed for the 12th annual Gravette High School Lions Classic. The event is set for Saturday, May 10, at the Scotsdale Golf Course in Bella Vista.
Hosted by the Gravette High School Boosters, the event is a major fundraiser for drama, music, cheerleader, athletics and academic programs at the school.
The golf classic is open to men and women. The field is limited to the first 144 entries.
A shotgun start will be at 8 a.m. Lunch will be served after play.
The cost for the four-person scramble is $65 per person and includes golf fees and tee favors.
Corporate and hole sponsorships are needed as well.
Individuals or businesses may sponsor a hole with a donation of $100 or more.
Corporate sponsorships may be obtained for donations ranging from $250 to $1,000. Corporate sponsors will receive player entries for two to eight people, depending on the level of donation.

Register now for Spring Mixer
Members and guests are invited to participate in Bella Vista Village's Spring Mixer from May 15-17 at the Berksdale and Kingswood golf courses.
The golf tournament, which is an 18-hole modified scotch twosome format, will introduce some changes in 2014. This year, golfers will play at noon Friday, May 16, and at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 17.
Spouses are not required to play together.
Check-in for the tournament will be all day Thursday and Friday morning at the Kingsdale Golf Shop. The tournament is limited to the first 120 paid couples.
The tournament entry fee is $100 per annual golf green fee team, $130 per value card team, $138 per member team and $156 per guest team. The cart fee is $30 per person.
The Spring Mixer shootout begins at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at the Kingsdale Complex. A separate entry fee of $30 per team, member or guest, is required for the shootout, which includes a picnic at Riordan Hall following play.
Picnic reservations are required. No refunds will be given.
