Wisconsin Club

A spring golf outing is planned for Sunday, May 4. Nine holes will be played at the Berksdale Golf Course starting at 12:30 p.m. in a scramble format. Green fees and carts must be paid for by each player.

A social hour will begin at 4 p.m. at Papa Mike's at Kingsdale. Dinner, featuring bratwurst and all the trimmings, will be served at 4:45 p.m.

The entry fee for golf is $5 and the meal is $10. Non-golfers are invited to the social and dinner.

Daughters of the American Revolution

The Lovely Purchase Chapter will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, April 14, in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive. Vicki Ronald, executive director of the Literacy Council of Benton County, will make "The Case for Literacy in Benton County."

Computer Club

"Search Engines -- How to Use Them" will be the presentation topic at this month's public meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, in the lower-level community room at Highlands Crossing Center in Bella Vista, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd.

Members and nonmembers may register for upcoming classes at the meeting. Classes are free to members. Class descriptions are available at www.bvcompclub.org. Register by calling 479-273-2558. The club email address is [email protected].

Computer help clinics will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16 and May 3, and from 1 to 4 p.m. May 7 in the club's classroom on the lower level of Highlands Crossing Center. Attendees should bring their computer tower or laptop for problem solving. Help clinics are a free service for members. Guests may join the club, then have their computer problems resolved.

Ladies Day Out

The ladies will have lunch at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant in Rogers and then go shopping on Tuesday, April 15. Participants will gather at 11 a.m. in the parking lot across from Bella Vista's Town Center.

Granny's Quilts

of Love

Granny's Quilts of Love met March 18 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. Twenty-one members and four guests -- Mary Bredl, Bea Keller, Diane McCoy and Gayle Turner -- were present.

The group now has a total of 17,394 quilts, 4,317 pillows and 1,738 hats that have been sent to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

The ladies cut 120 quilt kits. There was discussion regarding the annual auction.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. April 15 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, located at 1300 N. Davis St. For more information, contact Mary Margaret Webb at 479-451-8640.

NARFE

Bella Vista Chapter 1547 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, in the Village Insurance Community Room, 2838 Bella Vista Way, located across from Sugar Creek Center.

The speaker will be Bella Vista Mayor Frank Anderson, who will discuss the status of the city in 2014 and issues that will need to be addressed in the future.

NWA Handweavers Guild

The Northwest Arkansas Handweavers Guild will have its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Arts Center of the Ozarks, 214 S. Main, in Springdale. Visitors are welcome to join members as they receive ideas and information about weaving around the area. Refreshments will be served.

Bella Vista Ladies Bunco Club

Members and guests of the Bella Vista Ladies Bunco Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the community room at Concordia Retirement Center. A cost of $9.50 covers the game and lunch.

Christian Women's Connection

"Welcome Spring" is the theme of the Bentonville-Rogers Christian Women's Connection luncheon planned for 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 14, in the Community Building next to First Assembly of God in Bentonville.

Garden tips for spring will be featured. Laynette Riley will provide spring melodies, and Pat Bantz of Bentonville will speak on "It's Your Gift -- Open It."

German-American Club of NWA

The German-American Club of Northwest Arkansas will gather at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, in the Quarter Square shopping center at 1400 W. Walnut in Rogers. Volunteers are invited to come and help decorate the meeting room in preparation for Palm Sunday and Easter.
