Evangelical Free

Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Village Bible Evangelical Free Church.

Also Wednesday, the Building Committee will meet at 4 p.m. The family potluck dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and be followed by family praise and prayer fellowship plus children's and youth activities at 6:20 p.m. Mark and Jamie Farran, missionaries on staff with EFCA ReachGlobal, will be special guests this evening to share about their planned ministry in Romania. Choir practice starts at 7:30 p.m., and the Worship Team rehearses at 8 p.m.

On Thursday, April 10, the Hebrews Bible study, led by the Rev. Ron Morris, will meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. This study is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

On Sunday, April 13, the first worship service will be at 8:30 a.m. Sunday school classes will be available for all ages at 10 a.m., followed by the second worship service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Voll's sermon title will be "His Work is Finished, Ours is Not," based on John 19:16-30. Infant nursery and children's church will be available at the second service.

Intercessory Prayer for the Building Program will be held at the church at 9 a.m. Monday, April 14. A Food Pantry Committee meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. The Elder Board will meet at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, April 15, the ladies' Bible study titled "Jesus' Final Week" will meet at 9:30 a.m. with Joanne Morris leading the study. The ladies' KniTTogether ministry and White Cross EFCA Women's Mission ministry will also meet at 7 p.m.

Also Tuesday, the men's Bible study on 2 Peter, led by the Rev. Ron Morris, will meet at 7 p.m.

Methodist

Weekly Lenten services followed by a luncheon will be held at 11:45 a.m. every Wednesday through April 16 at the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista.

A prayer service is offered at 6 p.m. every Wednesday in the chapel.

Youth Life meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. for junior and senior high students.

The study of Revelation, a class led by the Rev. Albert Fisher, meets Thursdays at 4 p.m. in room 6.

On Sunday, April 13, the Rev. Jaimie Alexander will continue the sermon series "The Reel Jesus" series with "'The Plot Unfolds, Arrest, Trial, Crucifixion," from John 14:1-4.

A children's Easter egg hunt and pancake breakfast are planned for Saturday, April 12. Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. and the hunt begins at 9:30 a.m.

A Maundy Thursday service will be offered April 17 at 7 p.m.

A Good Friday service will take place at 7 p.m. April 18.

An Easter Sunday sunrise service will be offered at 7 a.m. at the Metfield Clubhouse. Easter Sunday services will also take place at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Traditional services are held every Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with a contemporary service at 9:30. Sunday school classes for all ages are also held at 9:30 a.m. A nursery is provided.

A men's fellowship group for those who have lost their wives will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, and the third Tuesday of each month in Becker Hall for a home-cooked meal. Lenten brown bag devotionals continue Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This year's topic is "24 Hours That Changed the World."

The second portion of the study of "Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy" continues. Check with the office for location and price.

The Bible study titled "Surrender and Win!!!" meets Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The JAM Sunday school class Bible study for the Lenten season will run through Sunday, April 13.

The TAN adult Sunday school class started a new session on April 6 discussing a DVD series titled "The Early Church: conquering the gates of hell." The group meets at 8:30 a.m.

Smart 911, a Schmieding Center Planning Ahead Program, will be held on April 15 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Topics will include learning about creating a safety profile for your household. Speaking will be Fire Chief Steve Sims and Police Chief Ken Farmer.

The Maundy Thursday service on April 17, a recreation of The Last Supper, will be presented with members from the congregation portraying Jesus' disciples. No rehearsal will be needed; all the parts will be handed out to the congregation that night and will be read. This is an opportunity to be a part of an important night in the life of Jesus. Jesus will be portrayed by Doug Stone and Judas by John Crain.

A "Cross Walk" will take place April 18 beginning at 2 p.m. The walk will originate at the Highlands Golf Course parking lot and will end in the church's front parking lot. A 15-minute outdoor service will be offered at 2:45 p.m. and a blowing of the Shofar will be at 3 p.m.

The annual Highland Flea will take place April 26 from 7 to 11 a.m. General item drop-off will be April 22-24 and large-item pickup will be Friday, April 25. Highland Christian (Disciples of Christ)

Bible Study meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9.

Disciples Women's meeting will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12. Susan Spears will present the study titled "Hands That Showed Love."

April 13 is Palm Sunday. Worship will include a service of traditional music and open Communion. The Rev. Paul Seal's sermon will be "Jesus, I'm Just Saying," followed by a fellowship meal.

The Men's Golf Group will play the Bella Vista Country Club Golf Course at 11:40 a.m. Monday, April 14.

Presbyterian Church

Lenten soup suppers conclude at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. The cost is $3 per person and a can of soup for donation to the Helping Hands food pantry. Following supper and fellowship, there will be a brief Lenten presentation. A six-week Lenten study also concludes Thursday, April 10. The Rev. Ritchie will lead the study from 4 to 5 p.m. each Thursday in classroom C. Study books are $10 each. Sign up now at the information center.

In preparation for Holy week, a Palm Sunday service will be held April 13 at 10 a.m. with a choir cantata. Holy Communion will be served at the Maundy Thursday service on April 17 at 7 p.m., at the Good Friday service at noon April 18 and on Palm Sunday. Easter will be celebrated with Holy Communion at the 10 a.m. worship service April 20. An Easter egg hunt will be held at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend any of the Holy week worship services.

The Women's Book Club will meet on Monday, April 14, at 10 a.m. in the parlor. The topic this month is "Pet/Animal Life." Everyone is welcome to participate with the group.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County

April 13 is discussion Sunday. Topics include the Rev. Randy Riverstone Graves' homily, titled "A Hobbit's Heart: On Friendship and Courage." Another group will discuss the presentation given on March 16 by Ralph Mathey, who founded HEAR the Cry Foundation -- Haiti Education Assistance and Relief -- as it relates to humanitarian outreach and how fellowship might engage in these types of activities. A third group exists for open discussion of topics of concern to those attending.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County meets at the Elks Club, 501 S. 40th St., in Rogers. Coffee and visitation begin at 10:30 a.m., and the service is at 11 a.m. School is available for children potty trained through age 15.

"Hope Rising: When Facing It Alone" will be the focus of the Sunday sermon on April 13 at the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services. KidTown for children from birth through fifth grade is open at both services, with Radiate Students for grades 6-12 meeting at 10:45 a.m.

The annual all-church spaghetti dinner and dessert auction will be held at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, April 13. This year's event will be held at Riordan Hall due to restoration at the church. Redemption's Call gospel quartet will provide music throughout the evening. There is no charge for the meal, but all donations will go toward the upcoming student ministries summer CIY trip.

The Worship Arts ministry is preparing for Easter weekend services at the church. The Lord's Supper Tableaux will be portrayed at 7 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, April 17. There will be three celebrations held on Easter weekend: at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, and at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 20.

Catholic Church

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults classes, for those interested in learning about the Catholic faith, meet at 7 p.m. every Wednesday in the parish hall. This is an open class and all are welcome.

The Knights of Columbus will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. in the parish hall.

Stations of the Cross will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Knights of Columbus will be holding their Lenten fish fry April 11. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6. The menu will consist of catfish, potato salad, coleslaw, hushpuppies, dessert, tea, coffee and water. The cost is $10 per person.

Holy Thursday services will be held at 7 p.m. April 17 and Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 19, at 8 p.m. Easter Sunday service will be at 9 a.m.

Adult Growing in Faith will meet at 3 p.m. in the hall on Sunday, April 13. The subject is Vatican II.

Crafters are again meeting in the hall every Tuesday starting at 8 a.m. Come early, stay late or come for as long as time allows.

Bingo will be played Thursday, April 17. Doors and a snack bar open at 5:45 p.m. and play starts at 6:30. The blackout jackpot is always $1,000. The community is welcome.

The Men's Study Group meets every Wednesday morning at 8 in the parlor at Bella Vista Community Church.

Parish nurses perform blood pressure checks on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and on the last Sunday of each month between services. There is no charge, and no appointment is necessary. This service is available to anyone in the community.

Prayer fellowship meets every Wednesday morning at 9:15 in the conference room.

Memory Disorder Caregivers support group meets at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the parlor.

The final Lenten soup supper and dessert will be held at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday for those who have reservations, followed by Lenten meditation at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The meditation is open to all and does not require a reservation. Wednesday night family activities begin at 6 with a pizza supper on the lower level, followed by Bible study from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for young adults, youth and children. A nursery is provided.

Hope Happens Here support group meets Thursday, April 10, at 3:30 p.m. in the parlor.
